Position, Data, and a Blustery November: Aero Testing with Mattie Dodd
Posted on
On 17 November 2025, British rider Mattie Dodd visited one of Streamlines' home test sites near Bicester to put his time trial position under the microscope. The session was run by Streamlines' own John Hale on a 1 km course. We would like to give a special thanks to Mattie Dodd for allowing us to publish these results, which give an insight into how top UCI teams are using the Streamlines system for rider development. The goal was to refine Mattie's position by systematically varying stack height and reach on Dodd's TT bike. Over the course of the session, six configurations were tested, from an 80 mm stack baseline down to 45 mm, and with reach adjustments from maximum rearward...
Rider Self-Testing Case Study: Anna Kiesenhofer
Posted on
Anna Kiesenhofer — Olympic gold medallist in the Tokyo 2020 road race and a mathematician by training — is no stranger to the pursuit of marginal gains. In October 2025, she took delivery of a Streamlines aerodynamic testing system at her base in Switzerland's Rhône valley, aiming to optimise her time trial setup ahead of the 2026 season. The equipment arrived on 22 October: a Streamlines Forma body position sensor and Altostratus wind probe, along with a custom carbon mounting plate. Anna rides a Pinarello Bolide time trial bike, and the first challenge was finding a clean way to fix the sensor beneath the aerobars. Over a couple of days of back-and-forth with the Streamlines team — mounting options, laser...
2025 Round Up!

This is our first entry in our News and Insights section for some time. Since there is quite a backlog of items to cover, a flurry of articles is planned for the next few weeks. The December-to-January season is our most hectic time of year, with multiple teams in winter training camps. As our technology and test methodologies continue to evolve, we maintain close contact with teams to ensure they achieve the best accuracy and efficiency from the system. When we founded the company, we planned to specialise in outdoor comparative aerodynamic testing on open roads, where we believed we could provide the greatest value to customers. We designed our web portal and server with enough flexibility to accommodate other...
2024-25 Winter Testing Season

We had a very busy winter and worked with a number of talented athletes. With our test's increased efficiency and accuracy, we're now able to test 4+ riders in a day. As Martin Paldan from GripGrab put it: "There’s an undeniable beauty in the art of aero optimization. The rhythmic hum of tires on rough Spanish tarmac during acceleration sets the scene, while the tech team - John and Bob from Streamlines, alongside Casper Folsach, Performance Coach at Uno-X, gather around laptops on a makeshift picnic table under the shade of olive trees. Surrounded by almond groves and vineyards in the heart of nowhere, their field lab setup is both ingenious and captivating. With devices mounted on bikes, they meticulously...

We were thrilled to attend the inaugural Cycling Technology Networking Event at Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub on February 12, 2025. The event featured insightful industry talks, facility tours, and live demonstrations. John Buckley gave a talk on “Normalising Variables in Outdoor Aerodynamic Testing”—a crucial factor which enables the high accuracy of our CIRRUS aerodynamic drag measurement system. Beyond the presentations, the event provided a great opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals, catch up with current customers, and meet potential new ones. Looking forward to the next one!
